Double, Double, Toil … by Darla Luke

http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photos-rear-view-young-woman-reading-novel-image25335138This week, out of the eleven self-pubbed books that are on the USA Today Best-Selling Books list, there are four authors who made it to the list with more than one book. Wow!

Another author had two top 150 books reach the list in the past couple of weeks. Talk about a trend! Does having more than one book raise an authors chances to make the USA Today list? It’s an interesting thought, and one I’ll keep an eye on in future weeks.

Here are the self-pubbed books that made the USA Today Top 150 Best-Selling Books list for the week ending 8-5-12* (per USA Today):

Slammed by Colleen Hoover (Amazon Digital Services). This week #20 (last week #22) $2.99.

Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover (Amazon Digital Services). This week #36 (last week #32) $3.99

Weekends Required by Sydney Landon (Amazon Digital Services). This week #42 (last week #117) $2.99

Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson (Smashwords). This week #104 (last week #40) $0.99

Training Tessa by Lyla Sinclair (Amazon Digital Services). This week #118 (last week #65) $0.99

Anything He Wants 4: Collateral Damage by Sara Fawkes (Amazon Digital Services). This week #124 (last week, not on the list) $2.99

Easy by Tammara Webber (Amazon Digital Services). This week #126 (last week #109) $3.99

For His Honor by Kelly Favor (PubIt!). This week #133 (last week #163) $2.99

Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan (Amazon Digital Services). This week #137 (last week #148) $4.99

Anything He Wants by Sara Fawkes (Amazon Digital Services). This week #140 (last week, not on the list) $0.99

Perfection: A Neighbor From Hell Novel by R.L. Mathewson (Amazon Digital Services). This week #146 (last week #89) $0.99

For His Pleasure by Kelly Favor (B&N Digital Publishing). This week #95 (last week #138) $0.99

I want to hear from you! If an author has a series of books that are linked, are you more likely (or tempted) to buy more than one?

*I’m human and do make mistakes (a shock to my friends, I’m sure!). If there’s a book on this week’s list that I missed, please let me know. If I misspelled/mistyped an author’s name or book title, I’m extremely sorry.

About Darla Luke

Darla Luke spent her childhood making up stories in her head, when she wasn't devouring every book she could get her hands on. If someone would have told her she'd be a writer when she grew up, she would have laughed herself silly. Now, writing is her passion, and she loves telling stories (especially ghost stories) and believes they all should have a happy ending.

  1. If I get hooked on a writer, I’ll buy their whole backlist and continue to buy their new releases. I’ve been disappointed when their earlier writings didn’t live up to their current project, yet I know as a writer we are constantly honing and improving our craft.
