Double, Double, Toil … by Darla Luke
This week, out of the eleven self-pubbed books that are on the USA Today Best-Selling Books list, there are four authors who made it to the list with more than one book. Wow!
Another author had two top 150 books reach the list in the past couple of weeks. Talk about a trend! Does having more than one book raise an authors chances to make the USA Today list? It’s an interesting thought, and one I’ll keep an eye on in future weeks.
Here are the self-pubbed books that made the USA Today Top 150 Best-Selling Books list for the week ending 8-5-12* (per USA Today):

I want to hear from you! If an author has a series of books that are linked, are you more likely (or tempted) to buy more than one?
*I’m human and do make mistakes (a shock to my friends, I’m sure!). If there’s a book on this week’s list that I missed, please let me know. If I misspelled/mistyped an author’s name or book title, I’m extremely sorry.

If I get hooked on a writer, I’ll buy their whole backlist and continue to buy their new releases. I’ve been disappointed when their earlier writings didn’t live up to their current project, yet I know as a writer we are constantly honing and improving our craft.
Ginger – yes, a lot of authors’ early works are a little “uncooked” as Cherry Adair would say. It’s neat to see an author grow
