Million Dollar Milestone … by Darla Luke

There are milestones that should be noted, especially in this industry. One is, of course, a book making it to the USA Today Best-selling Books list.

Another is being the first self-published author to make ONE MILLLLIIIOOON DOLLARS (um, yes – that was my very bad impression) through Barnes and Noble’s self-publishing arm PubIt! Author Barbara Freethy has distinguished herself by reaching that milestone in October. According to her blog, she passed the million dollar mark at Amazon.com a few months back. She is also the first self-published author to have sold a million on both platforms. Wow!

Let’s celebrate Barbara Freethy’s notable milestone! As the saying goes, ‘A rising tide lifts all boats’. Here’s to Barbara’s tide lifting us all 🙂

Here are the self-published books that reached the USA Today Top 150 Best-Selling Books list through the week ending Sunday 10-28-12*:

Naked by Raine Miller (Self-published via Amazon Digital Services). This week #58 (last week, not on the list) $2.99

Love Left Behind by S.H. Kolee (Self-published via Amazon Digital Services). This week #91 (last week #39) $3.99

*I’m human and make mistakes (a shock to my friends, I’m sure!). If there’s a book on this week’s list that I missed, please let me know. If I misspelled/mistyped an author’s name or book title, I’m extremely sorry.

About Darla Luke

Darla Luke spent her childhood making up stories in her head, when she wasn't devouring every book she could get her hands on. If someone would have told her she'd be a writer when she grew up, she would have laughed herself silly. Now, writing is her passion, and she loves telling stories (especially ghost stories) and believes they all should have a happy ending.
